Emilie Taylor Ceramics & Print
The etchings are small, personal representations of buildings designed to be Modern Utopia's.

Hand drawn lines and painterly techniques when applying acid to the plates results in delicate, pedestrian understandings of municipal buildings built to be uniform. The process of aquatint etching was chosen as a medium appropriate for its ability to convey sentimentality through the hazy, ethereal quality created by the falling dust that forms the aquatint.

Emilie is currently developing a limited edition of etchings comprising 6 images of Parkhill Flats, Sheffield.
